Archibald Smith Plantation Home
Archibald Smith Plantation Home is the preserved former home of one of Roswell's founding families. The 1845 house features original furnishings, clothing and family possessions kept intact by descendants of the Smiths. An 1840s piano, a Civil War soldier's trunk and a walnut plantation desk are among the antiques and artifacts displayed. The property also features several original buildings, including a barn, carriage house, greenhouse, corn crib, kitchen, slave cabin and spring house. Booth Western Art Museum
The museum houses contemporary American western art along with illustrations and movie posters. Particular subjects highlighted by individual galleries within the museum include cowboys and the Civil War. Chattahoochee Nature Center
Chattahoochee Nature Center encompasses 127 acres and has native gardens, a river boardwalk and several nature trails that wind through wetlands and woodlands. The trails are self-guiding, with native flora well marked. Carnivorous plants can be seen in the wetland demonstration area. Live reptiles and birds are exhibited. Kangaroo Conservation Center
The center houses more than 300 kangaroos of nine species which are seen in a variety of exhibits and presentations. Conducted by trained guides, the 90-minute Aussie Adventure tour features a boomerang exhibition, a KangaRanger truck ride and an up-close encounter with the animals at the Wild Australia show. The Aussie Walkabout is a quarter-mile trail that is surrounded by kangaroo enclosures. Before or after the tour, visitors are welcome to stroll through the Billabong Encounter�an indoor/outdoor exhibit featuring Australian plants and reptiles. A kookaburra/parrot aviary and a butterfly picnic garden also are on the grounds. The trail through Fern Valley leads visitors to a native Appalachian forest. Marietta Gone With the Wind Museum: Scarlett on the Square
The museum houses Dr. Christopher Sullivan's collection of "Gone With The Wind" memorabilia, which includes foreign editions of the book, as well as film costumes, contracts, original scripts, personal items that belonged to cast members, and an original gown worn by Vivien Leigh as Scarlett O'Hara.
