Dorchester Academy & Museum
An African American historic site that was founded as a school after the Civil War for freed slaves. By 1917, the fully-accredited high school had eight frame buildings and 300 students. Fort Stewart Military Museum
Ft. Stewart, the largest military post east of the Mississippi, is the home to the U.S. Army's 24th infantry division and is the summer training grounds for the National Guard. At the museum, Liberty County's military heritage is showcased in ever-changing exhibits featuring objects from WW11, Desert Storm, and present-day military activities. A must see is this military museum's high-tech Gulf War exhibit, one of the largest in the country, which displays artillery, tanks, and small arms captured from Iraq. LeConte-Woodmanston Botanical Gardens
Inland swamp rice plantation, is now a natural preserve and botanical gardens. A recreation of Louis LeConte's world-famous 18th century botanical gardens contain a myriad of antique plants. Living History Tour
Come take a step back in time with us at Seabrook Village. Your tour will be fully interactive with costumed guides. Visit the Gibbons House and wash clothes on a wash board. Watch them grind sugar cane and boil it into syrup. Visit the Delegal Williams House or the Ripley corn crib where you can grind grits and corn meal. Take a peek at the outhouse!
