Beach Institute African-American Cultural Center
Established in 1865 as the city's first school built specifically for African Americans. Today, the Beach Institute is a center for a rich variety of African American cultural programs, including traveling exhibits offered by national artists. The Roundhouse offers visitors a walk through the industry that built Savannah. Exhibits include a collection of antique machinery, 1950s print shop, H-O layout of Sav'h, and images of the Central of Georgia Railroad during the 150 years that it was Savannah's largest employer.
