Auchumpkee Creek Covered Bridge
Located in southern Upson County, was build in 1892,destroyed by the flood of 1994 and has been authentically rebuilt by Arnold Graton and Sons using salvageable portions of the original bridge. Historic Courthouse Square, Downtown
The Courthouse was built in 1908 for $63,000. When constructed, the Upson County Commissioners placed a $10 bill in one of the columns so that the county would never be broke. P.W. Alexander, a Confederate War correspondent, was at the bombardment of Fort Sumter and sent the White family (of the Pettigrew-White-Stamps House) a cannonball, said to be the first one fired. Sprewell Bluff State Park
This little-known gem on the Flint River is the perfect location for a daytime getaway. Visitors can cool off in the gently flowing river, skip rocks across the water, picnic on the rivers edge or toss horseshoes in a grassy field.
